The difference between CEM-l and CEM-3 composite copper clad laminates

Composite copper clad laminate, which mainly refers to CEM-1 and CEM-3 composite copper clad laminates.
Wood pulp fiber paper or cotton pulp fiber paper is used as the core material reinforcing material, and glass fiber cloth is used as the surface reinforcing material, both of which are immersed in a copper clad plate made of flame retardant epoxy resin, which is called CEM-1.
A fiber-clad paper is used as a core material reinforcing material, and a glass fiber cloth is used as a surface reinforcing material, and the copper-clad board is immersed in a flame-retardant epoxy resin, and is called CEM-3.

These two types of copper clad laminates are currently the most common composite copper clad laminates. The composite copper clad laminate is interposed between the epoxy fiberglass cloth base and the paper base copper clad laminate in terms of mechanical properties and manufacturing cost. It can be punched and machined. CEM-3 boards manufactured by some foreign manufacturers have higher performance levels than general FR-4 in terms of leakage resistance, thickness accuracy and dimensional stability. The replacement of FR-4 CCL with CEM-1 and CEM-3 to produce double-sided PCBs has been widely adopted in the world.

ZTELEC offers a wide range of high quality CEM-1 and CEM-3 composite copper clad laminates.
